Posted March 16, 2007 at 09:39 PM Forgive me!! I was one! I decided to play bass in a band because people always are looking for bass players. I always liked the bass so I gave it a go! I learned so I could record. I was a mediocre bass player at best and will be the first to say that it is a special skill and that bass players are a rare and important breed! Forgive me!!!:( |

Posted July 04, 2008 at 12:15 AM Ian: I have been a bassist for over 40 years, and I can tell you, most of the bassmen out there, and I mean out there, are a different breed of musician. Most are a bit egocentric, as they realize that without a good bassman, the band sucks, no matter how good the rest of the musicians are. You will notice that the drummer and the bassman are usually the two closest individuals in the group, as they work together to carry the rhythm section of any tune. Thats another story…drummers..and I thought bass players were out there. LOL. Keep Rock’n. |

Posted July 27, 2008 at 07:39 AM I had the pleasure of playing with Marcus Miller a couple times . A real Bass Player , is an Art in of itself , and I have to give respect where it is due , Micheal Manring , Jaco , Marcus , ....... Where would the rythym be without you , ......... I play Bass , but I am a Guitar player , I do know Bass theory , but the technique is something only time and love of the instrument can truly give you . |
