Posted May 01, 2007 at 04:40 PM I have started writing my own songs. And being a drummer I consider that to be no small deal. I have spent the last year learning to play some guitar. I have also collected enough instruments to be my own band,as well as recording gear. I have a Tascam DP01 8 track and have just picked up a Tascam 2488. I call my project ‘ODD MAN OUT’. I have recorded 10 or so songs and I have discovered the only way I can write is from personal feelings and experience. In my case it must come from the heart or it just does not ring true. After almost 30 years of playing I have to say songwriting is not only my gift to myself, but also the most satisfying musical experience of my life. |
