Two-Bit Eddie, a working, part-time band playing 60’s & 70’s rock, 60’s garage, 60’s R&B-soul, 50’s-60’s-70’s blues and a touch of 60’s & 70’s country is searching for a unique guitarist. We seek a band member, not a fill in or stair-stepper.
This ad is very specific.
It is not intended to be unkind; we know exactly what we need and we simply do not have the time to waste.
Every minute we’re not ready to gig cost us & YOU money.
If you play in other bands or are looking for a fill-in gig until something else comes along,
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR OUR TIME.

THE GUITARIST WE SEEK ABSOLUTELY MUST:
1. Sing high-harmony parts and be able to pick-out harmony
parts now, not six weeks or six months from now. If you can
sing lead, GREAT!! So much the better and you’ll be singing
lead as soon as we can work it out but you’ll learn our song
list first.
2. Be able and to be comfortable playing lead & rhythm in all of
the above styles. That means you can play Delta Blues in the
style of Son House & R.L. Burnside; play Chicago Blues like
Buddy Guy & Elmore James; play Memphis & Muscle Shoals
Soul like Steve Cropper or Jimmy Johnson; play the Motown
Sound like Joe Messina & Eddie Willis; play Garage Rock
like the Count Five, Electric Prunes & The Standells; play
60’s Surf like Dick Dale & The Ventures; play 60’s Blues
Rock like Humble Pie, John Mayall & Spooky Tooth; play
Psych like the Nazz, Yardbirds & Hendrix & T-Rex; play Roots
Rock from the likes of Ry Cooder, Robbie Robertson & Roy
Buchanan; play British Invasion guitar with extensive
knowledge of The Beatles, The Stones, The Dave Clark 5,
Manfred Mann, The Animals; play Country in the style of
Luther Perkins, Roy Clark & Chet Atkins; etc., etc., etc.
YOU GET THE POINT. If you lived it, you know it.
THE FEEL & KNOWING YOUR PLACE IN THE MIX IS EVERYTHING!

3. Own and be able to play 12-string (acoustic or electric or
both) lead & rhythm.
4. Own and be able to play 6-string acoustic. Lead, rhythm, slide
& finger picking.
5. Own and be able to play 6-string electric. Lead, rhythm
6. Be able to play slide-guitar. Electric mandatory, acoustic
desired.
7. Understand and possess the ability to play harmony lead
guitar parts.
8. Own your own amplifiers w/ internal or external multiple
effects for electric like the Line 6 MM4 Modulation Guitar
Effects Pedal but must have wah-wah, distortion, chorus,
reverb, tremolo and for acoustic guitar something akin to the
ZOOM A2.1u Acoustic Guitar Effects Pedal
9. Be available for rehearsal on average 2 xs per week.
No, you will not be paid to do so.
10. We pay rent for our rehearsal space each month. You will
pay your share, right now, 1/4th of the total. You will also
receive 1/4th of all the gig money. You’re a band member,
remember?
11. If you play any other instruments, GREAT!
YOU WILL NOT MAKE A LIVING PLAYING IN OUR BAND. IF YOU MUST PAY THE RENT, HOUSE NOTE OR CAR PAYMENT BY PLAYING, WE ARE NOT YOUR BAND.
We play 3-5 times per month in and around the Nashville area.
If you KNOW that you are the player we’re looking for and you are looking for a serious band that has been there and done that and who now plays great music in a great band with great band-mates, drop us an email with your contact info.
If not, thanks for looking and all the best to you.
